On registration a £50 deposit will be collected
to confirm your booked sessions. The deposit will be non refundable
if the booked sessions are not taken. Upon receiving a months
notice on of your child's departure from Si-lwli, the deposit
will be refunded in your final invoice. Our fees reflect the cost
of providing a high quality service and we reserve the right to
review them periodically. Fees include two-course meal, two healthy
snacks, numerous drinks and subsidized trips.
Bills will be distributed during the last week of
the month. Fees can be by cheque payable to "Si-Lwli",
cash, standing order or with childcare vouchers by the end of
the first week. Failure to do so will result in a fine.
If you wish to pay by standing order your fees will
be calculated on a calendar month basis (calculated over 51 weeks
) and due by the first day of each month. Please contact Nia to
arrange details. Fees well be incurred for days your child is
booked into Si-lwli, this includes non-attendance for any reasons.
Any serious illness or bereavement in the family will be assessed
on its individual merits. Bank Holidays and Christmas break will
need to be paid for. Four weeks notice of one fortnight holiday
within a year will entitle you to a 50% discount for the duration.
Health
Staff at Si-Lwli are dedicated in promoting a healthy
and caring environment. During the day children are encouraged
to eat healthy and maintain an active mind and body. We are dental
friendly nursery and encourage parents to bring in a toothbrush
and toothpaste with the children enabling them to brush their
teethe following lunch.
We advocate sun protection therefore parents must supply a sun
hat during the summer. Si-lwli supplies sun cream but if you wish
you may supply your own.
Illness
Illness Please familiarise yourselves with the "
Exclusion procedure for illness and communicable disease"
provided at the back of the contract. These are the minimum periods
of exclusion and should be adhered to. Staff have to care for
the holistic needs of all the children that attend Si-lwli therefore
the Senior staff has the authority to contact parents to collect
an children that become unwell. Staff must be convinced that the
child has returned to good health before re-admiting him/her.
All parents will be informed of any communicable diseases experienced
by any children at the nursery.
If any child has chronic condition and needs special care, treatment
or medication it is important the manager is informed to complete
any further information forms.
Medication Policy
Staff may only administer prescribed medicine, which
is labled with details of the child's name, dose of medication
and administration technique. We are happy to administer Paracetamol
(calpol) for up to two consecutive doses without prescription
but beyond that we recommend you seek medical advice. We do not
keep paracetamol as stock in the nursery. If a child has been
prescribed antibiotics they must be at home for the 1st 24hrs,
which is the equivalent of three dosed. When the medication is
brought into the nursery a "medication record sheet"
must be completed. The parent/carer will need to note the time
of the last dose given and sign the form two members of staff
will witness the medication being administered and sign the form.
At the end of the day the parent/carer must sign that they have
received the medication.
Incident policy
The welfare of all the children in Si-lwli is of
a paramount importance to us. Therefore we remain vigilant on
recording incidences that occur in physical or emotional injury
with the aim to improve safety, security and prevention of injury.
Any incidences experienced in or out of the nursery are recorded
immediately in the incident folder, as they are not legally admissible
after 24hrs. if any incidences have occurred to your child during
his/her time in Si-lwli we will explain the incident to you and
ak you to sign the form.
If there are any obvious signs of injuries seen
on your child we have an obligation to complete an incident form
and would grateful of an explanation of how it occurred.
Any serious injury an parent will be informed immediately. under
no circumstances will staff take children to seek advice, therefore
if parents or emergency contact numbers cannot be contacted 999
will be phoned and a member of staff will accompany your child
to the hospital until you arrive.
Child Protection Policy
Our prime concern is the welfare and well being
of all children in our care. Staff at Si-lwli has a duty to be
aware that abuse does occur in our society. All staff will attend
a training session on the sensitive subject. The nursery has a
policy and procedures in place that will be followed if we have
any reason to believe that a child in our care is subject to emotional,
physical or sexual abuse or neglect.
We have a duty to the children, parents/carers and
staff to act quickly and responsibly in any time instance that
may come to our attention. All children have personal diaries
that are used to note authority that have a duty to investigate
such matters.
If any allegation is made against a member of staff, CSIW and
the local child protection team will be informed and Si-lwlis
disciplinary procedure will be followed
Confidentiality
It is our legal requirement to hold information
in out car and the staff. we log the information on to management
computer software in order to compile accurate documents such
as the registers, invoices and a list of emergency contact numbers.
Si-lwli is registered under the Data Protection Act and a copy
of the certificate is displayed in the reception area. All written
documents and records will be stored in a locked cabinet.
Due to the nature of our work staff learn a great
deal about families that use Si-lwli, in order to provide a high
quality individual care. All staff is aware that this information
is confidential and only for the use within Si-lwlis setting.
if any information, pictures or films of children is requested
for whatever reason, the parents permission will be sought, If,
however, a child is considered at risk our child protection policy
will override confidentiality.
Equal Opportunities and Special needs policy
In accordance to the Equal opportunities Policy,
Si-lwli will ensure that your child will be respected and treated
equally with no discrimination on the grounds of gender, race,
colour, creed, ethnic or national origin or political beliefs.
Si-lwli is committed to the integration of children with specials
needs and believes all children have the right to experience and
develop along side their peers no matter what their individual
needs are. If you wish to familiarize yourself with the full Equal
opportunities and Special needs Policy please ask a member of
staff for a copy. Should an person believe that this policy is
not being complied with, it is their duty to bring the matter
to the attention of the manager at the earliest opportunity.
Behaviour Policy
Within Si-lwli we aim to set boundaries that promote
self-discipline, self-esteem and a sence of significance of their
own behaviour, both on the own environment and those around them.
Physical punishment, or threat is not accepted in Si-lwli. Children
are never shaken, smacked, humiliated, shouted at intimidated
or shamed. However under the terms of the children Act, it may
be necessary to use the restrain action in an emergency to prevent
personal injury to the child, other child or an adult or serious
damage property. Parents will be informed if their child is persistently
unkind to others or if their child has been upset or if they continue
to disrupt the daily routine causing an unstable learning environment.
Si-lwli reserves the right to remove a child from
its care if parents refuse to respond with the advice and recommendations
and the child continues to place him/herself or other children
in danger.
Parents as partners
The staff at Si-lwli will work with parents as partners
in providing quality care for their children. We would be grateful
if parents would maintain good communications with us providing
us with any developments or changes in their child's care or needs.
Parents evening open days and day trips will be organised during
the year and would be grateful of your support and any new ideas.
All parents will be welcome to visit the nursery at any time.
The children aged 1-2 years will be allocated a
key worker and parents will be encouraged to provide as much information
as possible to ease the Child's transition into the environment.
The key worker will be responsible for all round care and developments
of 3 children during the day and the routine will be planned according
to the needs and of the children in the group. A diary will be
provided and parents will be asked to comment or leave or leave
messages in the book but also to return on a daily basis.
Sleep Policy
Children aged 12-18 months will sleep in a cot the
older children will sleep on a floor mattresses or cushion. The
younger children will sleep as and when they require or on parents
request. The older children will sleep following lunch for a period
of no longer that an hour or according to a parents introductions.
Members of staff or Key workers will comfort and sit with the
children as they fall asleep they are then observed closely during
sleep time. Dummies and comforters are also used.
Shuttle Service
The vehicle has Business class one one insurance
it holds all the current tax and mot certificates and service
on a regular basis. No more than 5 children are carried at on
time and they all seat on a booster seat with a seat belt. Two
members of staff will always accompany the children on the journey
and at least one will be qualified.

As you and your child leave Si-lwli we could be
grateful if you could complete a very simple questionnaire or
write and leave any comments in our reflection box.

Late Collection
Children must be collected by 5.55pm as we do close
promptly at 6pm. If any parent/carer is running late a fee £5
for every quarter of an hour will be charged after 6pm. Persistent
lateness will not be tolerated.
If a child has not been collected by 6.10pm and
the parent/carer has not contacted Si-lwli the officer in charge
will telephone the contact numbers available. If no contact can
be made Nia Bowen the proprietor will be contacted to. In the
event of no contact being made by 7pm Nia will ring Social Services
Emergency Duty Team. Two Members of staff will remain with the
child until suitable arrangements have been made for the collection
of the child.
