Parents as Partners

Parents as Partners Policy

We at Si-lwli recognise in order to provide high quality care for the children we must build strong and trusting relationships between staff and parents.. It is important that parents take advantage of our invitation to involve themselves and commumicate their needs as we aim to improve. Communication is the key to a successful relationship and therefore we have set up various tools to meet this necessity

It is clear throughout all the policies that we aim to work with parents to ensure children receive the best care. Documents and records are in place to acquire and provide the correct information. Apart from the policies we also provide the following services to strengthen the working relationship between parents/carers and parents and also staff and parents.

__The building of relationships should begin immediately in order to ease the childrens transition between home and nursery. Parents are introduced to their child key worker immediately and transfer of information begins. Parents are provided with paper work to guide them on particular information staff will need.

__All advertisements of events, inspections and childrens activities and themes are displayed on the notice board (found in the hall). Parents are encouraged to look regularly at the board to keep updated.

__Newsletters are produced every quarter to inform parents and family of any developments in the nursery, which are displayed on the notice board and on the website.

__Parents are encouraged to participate in the arranged events and our biannual parents forum.

__An allotment has been acquired in LLandaff North Parents are encouraged to get involved and will benefit through the experiences they provide their children and the produce they will eat!

__Coffee mornings and parents evening are arranged regularly.
