Healthy Eating at our Nursery

Children need a well balanced diet in order to develop and thrive. The first few years are of vital importance as this is the crucial time when the foundations of future health are laid. Food and nutrients are the building blocks, which help children develop strong teeth, bones, muscles and minds.

Here at Si-lwli nursery our aim is to provide healthy, nutritious food for the children and help them establish good eating patterns and healthy attitudes towards food, which will be the firm foundations for lifetime habits. Our good practice has been recognised through the Healthy snack award awarded to us through the Welsh assembly goverment and Health Challange Cardiff, we continue to work alongside the guidelines for the award.

We aim to make mealtimes an enjoyable social occasion and a time for children to stock up their energy with a variety of nutritious and colourful food.
